The human body is an amazingly adaptable piece of machinery. Restriction of movement in one region of the body, e.g. due to joint stiffness or soft tissue tightness, can often be compensated for by the development of extra (but excessive) movement in an adjacent region. Unfortunately this excessive movement often leads to overstrain or overload of tissues and pain. Manual therapy is a handson technique that involves mobilising and/or manipulating the joints. It has many therapeutic benefits that can be felt immediately. Increasing the range of motion and reducing pain are just two of the diverse therapeutic effects of Manual Therapy.

Therapeutic ultrasound is one of the most common treatments used in the management of soft tissue lesions, which constitute the majority of rheumatic complaints. By using mechanical waves (ultrasound), this treatment aims to accelerate the healing process
in damaged tissues and to reduce the inflammation affecting many structures. Ultrasound is may also be used to break down the adhesions in post operative cases to increase the range of motion.

Electrotherapy is a form of medical treatment, which uses small electrical impulses to repair tissue, stimulate muscles and increase sensations and muscle strength. The electrical impulses are used to alleviate pain, improve circulation and the healing rate. Different electrical currents with different properties are applied when needed.

Employment of Kinesio Taping creates a totally new approach to treating nerves, muscles, and organs. Commonly used for athletes, different methods of taping are applied, including the colored Kinesio Tape, McConnell tape, white tape, ankle and wrist wrapping. The use of each tape varies according to the specific condition. Kinesio Tape is used to assist functional activities and to improve circulation in the desired area. It is the most common tape used at Physio Relief.

Every child deserves the chance to feel their best. Whether getting there requires a comprehensive rehabilitation treatment program or a little help here and there, our Paediatric Programs can help your child achieve the goals that are important to them. This type of treatment is aimed to improve the functional capacities of children with physical and mental challenges. It includes patients with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida and Congenital Abnormalities.

At Physio Relief our female team of specialist physiotherapists are available to treat all conditions relating to women’s health, which may include rehabilitation with pregnant women, stress incontinence, bladder control problems and weak pelvic floor muscles. Single and group exercise sessions are available at our clinic. Please call us for further details.

TRX Suspension Training is available at Physio Relief. It is a form of resistance training that includes bodyweight exercises in which a variety of multiplanar, compound exercise movements can be performed. These are done with the aim of developing strength,
balance, flexibility, and joint stability simultaneously.

By creating low air pressure in the cups, Dry Cupping is used to relieve many problems. The technique works by stretching the sheath surrounding the muscles and the muscular tissues themselves. It also increases the circulation in the area to help wash away all the toxins that may cause pain, soreness and tightness. Dry Cupping is one of the best solutions for chronic (more than 3 months) pain.

Physio Relief provides a range of products that can assist your recovery, including exercise elastic bands with different resistance levels; Wheat Hot Packs, with various sizes, shapes and colors; Treatment tapes, including Kinesio and Brown Tapes.
